Set up background work
Your Kiddie answers when you send a message. Work between conversations needs a research watch or an authorized strategy session. A deck by itself doesn't create either one.
On this page
Research watches depend on your agent's configuration. Strategy sessions and external notifications are part of the Kiddie toolkit, which every agent booted up from the app has and early-access agents get when they're moved over.
Choose the right kind of work
| Need | Use | Money actions |
|---|---|---|
| Refresh a report at a time or after a supported balance or position change | Research watch | Doesn't authorize trading. |
| Discover launches or rehearse entries repeatedly | Research or paper strategy session | No real trades. |
| Enter markets or manage exits under agreed rules | Live strategy session | Can trade within the authorized scope while you're away. |
A research watch wakes your Kiddie for a research turn. A strategy session runs saved rules without requiring a new model conversation for every check.
Set up a research watch
- Ask your Kiddie whether research watches are enabled on your account.
- Describe the task, schedule or supported trigger, and end time. Specify the timezone for a clock-based request.
- Review the cadence, expiry, and daily limit your Kiddie reports.
- Ask it to confirm that the watch is armed and identify where the result will appear.
For example:
If watches are enabled, refresh my research deck every 12 hours for the next three days. Don't trade. Show the check time and any missing data.
The standard limit is six research wakes per day across all watches, resetting at midnight UTC. Your account can have a lower configured limit. A requested schedule doesn't override that limit, and an expired watch stops instead of renewing itself.
A supported balance or position trigger isn't a universal price alert. Ask for a periodic research check if a price condition isn't supported, and account for the gaps between checks.
Find the results
Open the relevant deck or saved report when you return. Completed watch replies can appear in the conversation under While you were away.
A research watch doesn't send a phone notification. Don't rely on it for an urgent alert or a time-critical exit. Checks can be delayed by limits, cooldowns, missing data, or an outage.
Run a strategy while you're away
On a toolkit agent, ask your Kiddie to plan and start a strategy. Confirm that it reports the session as running, not only planned or queued.
You can close the browser after the worker acknowledges the session. The worker still depends on the service and its data sources. A live-worker restart interrupts execution and requires an explicit recovery and resume request.
Enable optional notifications
Strategy notifications use a configured Telegram destination or Discord webhook. They aren't a general chat integration or a way to talk to your Kiddie from those services.
- Ask which notification destination, if any, is configured for your account.
- If none is configured, ask in the Script Kiddies Discord to have one set up. Don't paste bot credentials or webhook secrets into chat.
- Once the destination is confirmed, opt the specific strategy into event notifications.
Each event delivery is attempted at most once. Failed or uncertain delivery isn't automatically retried. A stopped worker might send no notification. Check session state in Script Kiddies rather than treating silence as evidence that everything is working.
Stop background work
- To remove a research watch, ask “Remove the recurring watch for my research deck.” Ask for the remaining watches if you're unsure which one is active.
- To stop a strategy without selling, ask “Stop all work for this strategy and leave its assets held.”
- To sell the strategy's remaining managed positions, ask to close those positions. Check the reported outcome; a request to sell isn't a completed sale.
Disconnecting your wallet, closing a browser tab, or archiving a deck doesn't remove watches or stop strategies.
